Cookie Policy
Effective April 14, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how BoroBeacon uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or use the Service. For more on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies let a site remember you across pages and visits — for example, keeping you signed in so you do not have to log in on every page load.
Our approach
We use the minimum number of cookies needed to run the product. Specifically:
- We do use strictly necessary cookies for authentication.
- We do use one optional functional cookie to remember your theme preference, only if you set one.
- We do not use advertising cookies.
- We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.
- We do not use third-party analytics cookies that identify individual visitors.
- We do not share cookie data with data brokers.
Cookies we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-access-token | Keeps you signed in. Required to use the app. | Session or 1 hour | Strictly necessary |
| sb-refresh-token | Renews your session silently when the access token expires. | 7 days | Strictly necessary |
| bb-theme | Remembers your light/dark theme preference, if you set one. | 1 year | Functional |
Third-party services
Some of our service providers may set their own cookies when you interact with them:
- Our hosting provider — security and anti-DDoS measures at the edge.
These are operational cookies, not advertising cookies. We do not embed Google Analytics, Meta pixels, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any other advertising or cross-site tracking pixels.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Service. The major browsers all publish instructions for managing cookies: search "manage cookies" in your browser name.
"Do Not Track"
Because we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, there is nothing for us to disable when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. We treat every visitor the same.
Changes
If we add or remove cookies, we will update this page and, if the changes are material, we will notify account holders by email.
